| Welcome |

 |
Thanks so much for stopping by! I'm Megan Boone, a lifestyle photographer from Southern Oregon. This blog was designed to be a sneak peek into both my professional and personal life. If you are a client I hope that it will give you an understanding of my business philosophies as well as my personality and style of work. If you are a family member or friend it will just be a good way to check in on our daily adventures. My goal is to keep things interesting so aside from my photography, you can expect to find everything from recipes that I'm loving, books and music to check out, to anecdotes about weird looking bugs that I find in my bathtub. So please take the time to utilize your bookmark function, or you can subscribe to the RSS feed at the bottom, if that is the sort of thing floats your boat. If neither of those options made sense to you, then you need to pull out a piece of paper and write down meganboonephotography.net with a pen, then stick the note to your computer screen for safekeeping. In the meantime enjoy the rest of the blog.

| Megan and Jaison's Wedding |
 |
 |
 |
I've already gushed so much about how great Megan and Jaison are, but seriously, their wedding was even more beautiful and emotional than I ever could have expected. I think my favorite thing about them is the way that I catch them looking at each other. There is so much adoration and devotion in those in-between glances it just makes my heart swell.
Enough of me being sappy. Here are some of my favorites from the day. |

| The handsome groom went from nervous to giddy back to nervous again all in about five minutes. Here he is at the giddy stage: |

| He became calm and collected during the ceremony, however. |

| One of those looks I was telling you about: |

| Megan was such a gorgeous bride, she reminds me of a model in an ad for perfume or something of that sort here: |

| Of course, we had to go back to the fountain, to bring things full circle. |

| Congrats you two, I wish you nothing less than a long, happy, and ever-so-perfect life together! |

| Oppenheimer |
 |
 |
 |
Congrats to Brian S.! He was the first person to guess that Oppenheimer was the other guy in the Einstein picture.
So here is your fabulous prize, a picture of you and your gorgeous baby flying through the air. Being a smarty pants is prize enough though, isn't it? |

| The New York Times |
 |
 |
 |
A couple of weeks ago, I stumbled upon the NY times online store and realized that they have tons of their photographs on sale. I lost a few hours by perusing all of them, and I got to say, if you are in need of some new wall art, go there, they'll even frame them for you. This is one of the things that is so beautiful about photography, at the end of the day, everyone can have an "original" hanging on their wall.
This one is on the front end of the site, and it is just heartbreaking to me... |

Perhaps a bathroom decorated in obscure Einstein photographs will help start your day right...
(A special prize goes to the first person that can name the other guy.) |

| I just love the color of this one, it makes me want to redecorate my kitchen and also pick up some coordinating aprons. |

| If you want to get really retro, they also have some seriously cool building photochromes (a colorizing process combining photography and color lithography). |

| Megan and Jaison's Engagement Session |
 |
 |
 |
| I had the distinct privilege of shooting Jaison and Megan's Engagement session last week. I use the word privilege because I really felt like the whole experience was just that. It is so wonderful to get to work with people that enhance your artistic expression, and I feel like that is exactly what they did. Having a couple that was so natural and understanding of my process was without a doubt heaven-sent. Oh, and being really, really, ridiculously good looking didn't hurt either. |

| This was one of their faves.... |

| I can't wait to shoot their wedding this weekend, it is going to be such a blast. Oh, and did I mention that Jaison is a chef? Which is to say, I'm guessing that the food they picked out is going to be to die for. My job is too awesome. |

| What's For Dinner? |

HAZELNUT STUFFED CHICKEN BREAST serves 2-4
I came up with this recipe on the fly last night, it was ridiculously easy, so I thought I would pass it on...
2 boneless, skinless chcken breasts
3 1/2 oz. Cream Cheese
1 TBSP Olive Oil
2 TBSP of butter
1 egg
1/4 tsp Capers, (eh, I probably used more than that, so give or take there)
1/4 tsp finely chopped fresh rosemary
1/2 tsp finely chopped fresh basil
1/4 tsp kosher salt
1/4 tsp ground pepper
1/4 tsp paprika
1/2 cup loosely chopped hazelnuts
handful of breadcrumbs
preheat oven to 450 degrees
Combine cream cheese, salt, pepper, paprika, basil, rosemary, olive oil, ONE TBSP of the butter, capers, and MOST of the hazelnuts (just leave a little back to mix with the breadcrumbs). Mix well, it will be think and pasty. Taste a bit as you go along, remember there is a big difference between cooking and baking, if you want to add more or less of something, go for it.
Split the Chicken Vertically on the sides. A lot of times the larger breasts are already split. Lay them in a shallow baking dish greased with the other TBSP of your butter. Half the mixture and fill each. It is so think that you really don't have to worry about sealing them with toothpicks.
Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush on top of the chicken. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs and the remainder of hazelnuts.
Bake for 40-45 mins.
Your significant other will dub the meal "fancy" and you will undoubtedly feel pretty satisfied with yourself.

| Julia, Julia, Morning Moon... |
 |
 |
 |
| I recently did a portrait session of Julia, and despite being a self proclaimed "camera shy" sort of girl, she did a remarkable job of fooling me, and my Canon, for that matter. |

| This is the one that reminded me of the Beatles song, she very much seems to be bathed in morning moonlight... |

| I think it is pretty safe to say that Julia is SO gonna be my new friend. Not only is she a creative and kind soul, but she has killer taste in music. |

| Creature Comforts |
 |
 |
 |
If you're starting to feel like your Tivo will be going on hiatus this summer, hath no fear: the British invasion is here. Or, well, a successful adaptation at the very least. Creature Comforts was one of my favorite obscure TV shows, created by Nick Park (Wallace and Grommit, Chicken Run). It came and went pretty quietly on American television a few years ago. When I heard that CBS was working on a new American version I was pretty worried that it would lose a lot of its charm in the conversion. However, just like The Office, it translates to American culture beautifully, even gaining an extra dose of dark humor that only a certain sort of American can provide.
The premise of the show isn't incredibly easy to explain, so I'll try to prepare you for what to expect as best I can... |

1. It's claymation.
2. It delves into the human psyche in a creatively sneaky way.
3. It's awesome. |

CBS Monday Nights. 8/7 central
EDITED TO ADD; Already cancelled. |

| Jay and Sue's Wedding |
 |
 |
 |
| I really don't think that there is anything in the world more beautiful than a summer wedding in Lithia Park. Don't get me wrong, a church wedding definately has its own beauty, but there is just something about smiling brides and exuberant grooms professing their love under a canopy of trees. |

| This was Jay's face coming down the aisle. I'm not even sure if exuberant is an exuberant enough description... |

| Sue was so serene and composed the entire day. |

| I caught this quiet moment alone at the end of the ceremony. |
