| Just like with Halloween and Christmas, Little B makes every holiday we have so much more delightful. We read him a few books this month about egg hunting and how to go about it, and when the day finally came, he didn't miss a beat. 58 eggs were found in about 9-15 minutes. |

| I think if I could get away with it I would keep him in this outfit for life. He looks quite the tiny gentleman. |

| A rare blog appearance from the husband, who was also looking quite the gentleman. |

| Toward the end, it occured to him that the eggs opened. That is when things started getting kind of, well, frat party- esque. |

If you ever find yourself forgetting that sugar is a pretty serious substance that drastically affects your mood, feed a toddler jelly beans.
There is maniacal laughter and in your face WOOOWAH: |

| There is refusal to partake in minor clean-ups: |

| There is violent egg throwing with amazingly precise form: |

| There is sensless screaming to the sky: |

| And then, as quickly as it came, the sugar buzz is gone, and it is back to business. |

| Spring Break |
 |
 |
 |
Attention those of you that have sessions scheduled this week: It looks like the rain is here to stay, but that doesn't mean you must give up all hope! I'll be contacting you 24 hours prior to your shoot to set up a "rain check" session. Seeing that most of you have children, we will more than likely have to set up a Saturday session, but you will still be eligible for the weekday rate. Until then, stay dry!

| Dunbar Family Farms |
 |
 |
 |
Dunbar Family Farms in Medford hosted an awesome field trip for the Kids in the Kitchen project last week. I was lucky enough to get to tag along with my camera in tow.
It was a bit of a rainy day, but I really liked the mood that the light gave to the farm. |

David Mostue is pretty much the main man at the farm. I really can't go on enough about how much I like this guy. At only 23, he is doing such HUGE things with developing the CSA (Community Supported Agricultural program) with Hillcrest Orchards and the Roxy Ann Winery. Not to mention the family has donated an acre of land for a children's gardening project to start this summer. I can honestly say that it was a great honor to meet him. He is so knowledgeable about the entire infrastructure of the land but still manages to strike a nice balance of calm in the midst of what is no doubt endless and exhausting work.
He took the kids out to the field to pick wild kale and leeks. They also got a little crash course on what exactly those vegetables are. |

| This young man was telling us about how much he loved the smell of dandelions. I totally agree with him. |

| Remember Daniel? Of course you do, who could forget that fabulous profile? |

| So many leeks, so little time. |

| We then headed back to the tent that was set up to get a cooking lesson from Daniel. |

| Alyssa has been working on the farm since June. That sort of suprised me because she seemed so in-tune with the land, it was hard to believe that she didn't grow up there. Here she is on garbanzo bean duty. |

| When Daniel and Chantel got started on the hummus, it became increasingly difficult to get any good shots. Everyone was huddled in to watch and learn. |

| MMMmmmm. Hummus accessories. |

| Daniel made tons of chicken salad sandwiches for everyone. There have been a couple of times that I've found myself thinking about these sandwiches. I don't know what it is about the outdoors, but it just makes everything taste better. Or, what is more probable, it could just be that they were incredibly tasty because they were sandwiches made by a highly-trained chef. |

Either way, I decided to harass Daniel today into giving me yet another recipe. Of course, I told him that I needed the recipe under the pretense of blogging or adding it to a press release. It was really a purely selfish act all to get the recipe for myself. However, seeing that it is typed up here, it would be just plain mean not to share it.
Sweet Chicks Chicken Salad
2-3 cups chicken (preferably white meat)
1\2 cup sliced grapes
1 Granny Smith apple, diced
1 Fuji apple, diced
10 cloves of pickled garlic
2 tablespoons Grey Poupon
1/4 cup mayonnaise (Daniel said that he was sort of loose with this measurement; you can pretty much spoon it in until the texture is smooth and creamy)
Salt and pepper to taste
You can also throw some walnuts in if you are feeling, ahem, nutty. |

| Have You Checked Your Spam Lately? |

I've gotten word from several people that they are finding my emails in their Junk Mail Folder. I haven't yet decided exactly what I'm going to do about this issue (if there is anything I can do), but until then, if you have been expecting something from me and haven't seen it, be sure to check there!
I hate posts without pictures so here is some eye candy for you today... |

| Dinners Done Right Field Trip |
 |
 |
 |
| The Kids in the Kitchen project has started out with a bang. There was a wonderful turnout and interest on the kids' part and an overwhelming amount of generosity from the community. |

| Last week, Dinners Done Right in Medford hosted a field trip for the kids to come and cook their own meals. They even donated enough for the kids to take home for their families. If you haven't tried Dinners Done Right, you should really look into it. They have great menus that change monthly and it really is the perfect antidote to the perpetual "What should we do for dinner?" question. |

| This was my first time seeing the kids in action and it wasn't completely what I had expected. I had prepared myself for lots of goofing around and wandering about, but I was met with some kids that were ready to get down to some serious cooking business. |

| The kitchen is set up into a lot of different stations and you can either pick up your meal prepared or you can find a station and do it yourself for a lower price. Seeing how much the kids enjoyed it showed that it would be a pretty fun thing to do with the family on a Friday night. No dishes! |

The funniest thing I heard for the day was when I was asked by one young man what "pepper to taste" meant. When I answered that it pretty much meant that you can add as much or as little as you liked he looked at me slightly concerned and said, "Well I don't like it at all, so what do I do about that?" I told him it seemed the best thing he could do would be to not add pepper and to never eat at my house because he wouldn't like it too much. Without skipping a beat he added, "Yeah, cuz you'd take my picture the whole time."
That pretty much sums up my dinner parties: being force fed mass quantities of pepper and getting photographed in the process. |

| These looked so yummy and I forgot to find out what they were even called. Perhaps Chantel can enlighten us in the comments. |

| We've got another field trip planned, so keep checking in! |

| One Baby Bump, Two Ways |
 |

From a photographer's perspective there is no better quality in a person than spontaneity. If I can stop a person in mid conversation and say, "I'm sorry but that light behind you is awesome. Can you step back so I can take your picture in it?" and they say, "Absolutely," then I know that I have met someone that is a little out of the ordinary and is a delightful person indeed.
Chantel is totally one of those people. There is a certain grace to her that I think might be the driving force as to why she is so impressive to me as a person. She has an amazing ability to always keep things cool, calm, and organized, yet she seems to always be on the go. All while pregnant with two more at home no less! |

| Studio Muzak |

I've been consumed with nothing but Photoshop for the last week or so, and while it may be tedious work it does have it's advantages. One being headphones. So, I thought I might start a weekly blog "segment" of what I'm listening to in the studio. I won't be going into any in-depth reviews seeing as how there are thousands upon thousands of blogs that you can track down for that sort of thing. If I post it, it's good, so check it out. Simple enough.
